Jessica & Stephen at Stoke Rochford Hall

If I was to sum up this wedding in one word it would be ‘WOW’. It literally was spectacular!

Sadly in the run up to the wedding Stephen’s mum had become very ill which meant she would not be able to attend the wedding. I could see that this was heart breaking news so wanted to ensure we captured absolutely everything we could.

Jessica was in great spirits when we arrived. She decided she wanted minimal fuss and expertly applied her own make-up. The overall mood was relaxed with everyone excited to see Stephens special arrival.

Now talk about arriving in style! Stephen only blummin well arrived via a helicopter! It looked amazing and something out of a James Bond movie.

We got some lovely pictures of Jessica in her dress and then with her bridesmaids before the ceremony commenced.

During the ceremony young Isaac had us all laughing as he paraded around wearing very large leather gloves. I have to say it was a lovely moment when Lewis passed the wedding rings to his dad so that he could marry Jessica.

As it was a nice sunny day we spent the majority of the time outside photographing the formal groups coupled with some lovely natural photos. We then had a walk around the impressive landscaped gardens and captured some lovely romantic photos with a few fun ones thrown in for good measure.

Stoke Rochford Hall is an impressive historic building with beautiful gardens. It offers lots of different areas for wedding photographs. The orangery and library are a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and wedding breakfast.

The speeches were started with a hilarious speech from the father of the bride with large quotation cards. This was followed by Stephen’s very heartfelt speech with the added surprise of a special birthday cake for the best man. This just showed how gracious the couple are as it was a very personal bespoke cake. Obviously the best man replied with a speech that was very amusing about both the groom and the bride! Then Jessica decided to surprise Stephen with a small box to open. Not to be outdone Stephen then handed Jessica an envelope to open. He had only gone and booked them a surprise honeymoon to the Maldives! Stephen was then a bit confused by Jessica’s present as it was a small box with a key in it. Jessica then led him outside for him to go and unveil his new Ducati motorbike!!!

After a few fun photographs in the evening light everyone went back inside to watch the happy couple cut their very impressive ‘muppets’ wedding cake. This was followed by a brilliantly rehearsed first dance routine. The last photograph just summed up what an amazing wedding day it had been for them both.

For me this was a very special wedding and was an absolute pleasure to capture for two very lovely people who are completely and utterly devoted to each other.

This is what the couple had to say:

Our wedding day was made perfect by feeling at ease with the camera and the people behind it. We didn’t always notice we were having photos took of ourselves which was lovely than having to pose all the time for a photo. We had some lovely photos took in parts of our venue that Jonathon and his team knew would make good pictures. Going with a photographer that knows your venue definitely pays off! We had such a laugh with everyone involved from getting ready to doing the smoochy photos. We would like to thank Jonathon for the photos that will last forever and look fantastic on our walls at home!
